Why has my email address changed from "@btopenworld.com" to "@btinternet.com"?
(I know it's yahoo to btinternet, but might be same idea, seen as bt and yahoo have joined together)...
The domain name for emails addresses supplied to our customers changed from "@btopenworld.com" to "@btinternet.com" a while ago in response to corporate changes. However the two domains are fundamentally the same and interchangeable.
Hence if the email address you normally use ends with "@btinternet.com" you will still able to send and receive emails via the "@btopenworld.com" address and vice versa.
So for instance if you attempt to send an email from your "@btinternet.com" account and you receive a delivery failure message from the mail server that is addressed to you at "btopenworld.com" you needn't worry that the discrepancy between these domain names was in any way implicated in this delivery failure.
